In 1988 the IBM PC had only been available for a few years. There were many small to medium
size businesses that had yet to venture into the PC world.
As our Vice President, Jason Gottschalk, started becoming aware of the usefulness of
the PC in the business world, he began studying how it worked, what it's capabilities
were and how it could be used in the day to day business for local companies. After
opening SYO with nothing more than an IBM XT Clone, a tool kit and a briefcase, Jason
worked with local businesses providing both software and
hardware for their needs.
As our experience broadened, in late 1989, we introduced both Networking and Desktop Publishing
to a bi-weekly newpaper in Genesee county. This sale proved to be the beginning of a long
relationship SYO has had with the printing industry. From Newspapers with web presses to
small offset print shops to high speed laser printers like the Xerox line of Docutechs and
Docuprints, SYO has provided programming and automation to a number print houses in Metro Detroit.
Although the printing industry has been a solid building block for SYO, it has not stopped us
from growing and expanding into other markets as we continue to bring reliable consulting, sales
and service to medium size businesses.
We have staff members with extensive
knowledge and experience with Microsoft servers, Microsoft workstations, Unix workstations, Linux workstations,
TCP/IP networking, IP Security E-Commerce and more. We also have staff members that
are Vertically Integrated for complex integrated solutions.
After more than 18 years, SYO has certainly become a solid company worthy of your trust.
