PBI is a public browser interface for kiosk touchscreen, keyboard or mouse access to the Internet, an Intranet, new media and other applications.
It allows users to easily operate a web browser either in a touchscreen information kiosk or on a corporate Intranet. Sitting on top of and controlling the web browser, it has been designed with a simple and robust user-interface, enabling complete novices to browse in a safe, controlled and intuitive manner. It also provides a secure environment to integrate other applications such as multimedia presentations onto the system.
Our PBI installations allow fully secure use in unsupervised access applications due to the extensive built in security features, such as the prevention of unauthorised access to the operating system.
Our PBI installation Microsoft Internet Explorer, running under Windows XP, 7 or 2008 operating systems and controls the browser dynamically via the Windows API, OLE and DDE, allowing data entry through the integral visual keyboard, or external keyboard or input device.
The self-contained nature of the PBI allows for unconstrained branding or themes, therefore the entire functionality as well as the graphical look of the system can be easily customized to suit the needs of the client. The product has been designed with the premise that the majority of devices deployed around the world will offer free (or very low cost) Internet access, supported or subsidized by advertising. Thus the PBI provides operators with the infrastructure to support various advertising strategies, from banner ads to full screen carousel video clips.
